The purpose of the Blue Springs Historical Society is to bring together people interested in the history of Blue Springs, Missouri. Our main geographic focus is Blue Springs and eastern Jackson County.
The members, their friends, and family are welcomed and encouraged to participate in our numerous activities, serve and voice their opinion on committees, and help the Society to achieve our goals and preserve our history.
The Society needs financial resources to pay our
- Monthly utility bills
- Insurance premiums
- Monthly publication of our newsletter, The Historical Record
- Maintenance of 3 buildings and major renovations
- Lawn upkeep and
- Develop and maintain our 1906 Educational Heritage Garden.
Currently our goals are to
remove the early 1950's non-contributing ,small, rental house behind the Hotel -Achieved
design and implement phase 3 of the Greater Kansas City Master Gardeners and Historical Society's 1906 Educational Heritage Garden
- repair and paint the outside wood on the Dillingham-Lewis House Museum and the Chicago & Alton Hotel - Achieved
To meet our needs and accomplish our goals, we rely on membership dues, fundraising activities, grants, and tax deductible monetary and in-kind donations, since we are a non-profit 501c3.
